UPDATE (August 19, 2010)

The Inquiry will resume on September 13. The witness list is available on the schedule page.


The Inquiry is now in its second phase that deals with its mandate to investigate issues in connection with the acquisition by the City of Mississauga of approximately 8.5 acres of land in the city centre.

The first phase of the Inquiry dealt with the December 2000 Enersource Shareholders Agreement to which the City was a party.

The written and oral closing submissions for the first phase have been posted.

The Inquiry started hearing evidence on Tuesday, May 25, 2010. Anticipated sitting days are scheduled until September 21, 2010 (The anticipated hearing dates).

The Inquiry sits from 10 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. with an appropriate lunch break.

The hearings are being held at the Inquiry's hearing room 950 Burnhamthorpe Road West in Mississauga.

City of Mississauga Judicial Inquiry

The City of Mississauga Judicial Inquiry is an independent judicial inquiry that was established under Section 274 of the Municipal Act 2001 by a vote of the Mississauga City Council on November 11, 2009.

Mr. Justice J. Douglas Cunningham, Associate Chief Justice of the Superior Court of Justice of Ontario, has been appointed Commissioner.

The Inquiry is investigating issues in connection with the acquisition by the City of Mississauga of approximately 8.5 acres of land in the city centre and issues in connection with the December 2000 Enersource Shareholders Agreement to which the City was a party.

The Commissioner will report his findings and recommendations to City Council.
